We all send much love to the whole family during these difficult times. I have always felt very welcomed by Sue and Mike‘s family during my visits in England. My first visit was in 1981 when I was 13 and I loved Sue, Mike, Emma and Sophie a lot. I loved talking to them and will never forget their kindness. Thank you so much for making it possible that Emma and I were able see each other so often. It was always a very special experience for me to stay at your house for several weeks. You inspired me to learn the English language and I still love it. After all these years, Emma and I are still in contact. Only a few months ago, Emma‘s daughter visited us in Germany and it was such a pleasure.

I first met Sue 40 years ago. We were at Durham University at O.U summer school. We hit it off straight away and spent many evenings ‘putting the world to rights’. We kept in touch over the years with Christmas cards, letters and the occasional phone call. Over the last few years Mike and Sue called to see me when they were staying at Keswick. Over lunch we caught up on all the news. It was a very special friendship. Every time we met, it was as though we’d only seen each other the day before. We just took up where we’d left off. I met Susan when I visited Emma at her home after Emma & I met on the bus to sixth form college. As a teenager I was struck by her welcoming lust for life and bohemian spirit and that never left her whenever I met her again. While this news is sad, sending aroha nui to Mike, Emma, Sophie and the family. But you know, sat here thinking of the times I spent in her presence I am smiling and that's a precious thing xox

Sue was a bright, generous, lovely lady. A fund of knowledge on gardening and wild life which we would tap into often and we still have plants in our garden grown from cuttings which she gave us. We will miss the wonderful conversations on many and varied topics. But most of all, we will miss a dear, valued friend.

We first met Sue & Mike at Miami airport in 2003, all on our way to join a Jules Verne group off to Quito, The Galapagos and the Ecuadorian jungle. We hit it off straight away and stuck together. In 2006 all four of us went on a cruise on MV Discovery through the Suez from the Red Sea to North Africa, where Sue was particularly keen to see the Roman remains of Al Khums in Libya. Our third holiday together was in 2009 to Hisaronu in Turkey where Mike and I shared the driving of a hire car. Sue and Mike were always great company. Since then we always got together when they visited Sophie in Wimborne for a walk and a meal. Occasionally we stayed with them in Harrow, when Mike would kindly chaffeur us around to see the local beauty spots. Sue was always a pleasure to talk to and had eclectic interests. We shall miss her visits and her bubbly personality.

Many years ago, I visited Emma at her parents' home in Harrow. There I met her cool parents, a couple out of a thousand, Mike and Susan. I received a warm welcome there, with the necessary humour and savoir vivre. I can imagine that many a person would wish they had parrents like that. We are now left with fond memories of Susan. A big hug for Mike, try to enjoy life for a gew decades more, with the company of your daughters and grandchildren. You both did an excellent job, keep up the good work for many years to come!

It is with deep sadness that I write a few words to remember the wonderful Sue Anderson. I first met Sue at St. Dominic's Sixth Form College where she taught me A-Level Geography. She was easily one of the best teachers I had throughout my time at schools and her intelligence was only matched by her wit and mischievous personality. We remained in touch ever since as I introduced her and Mike to my wife and eventually two boys. We shared a great love for all things Geography and laterally into politics, world affairs etc. She was great company, would spoil me with Sunday lunches and always appreciated a visit where we would chat away an afternoon with ease. Lately we would meet at the Harvester in Bushey and no matter how hard I would try and pay, Sue always insisted that it was her treat! My boys would take advantage and order something big and sugary for desert which I think Sue appreciated with a smile in a way a grandparent spoils their grandchildren. My sympathies go to Mike, Emma, Sophie and families. Sue will be dearly missed and always fondly remembered by Peter, Angela, Rory and Joseph.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
